Fusion IO 640GB Flash HDD promises insane read and write speeds (compared with what we're used to) - 800 MBps and 600 MBps respectively. These are DRAM speeds, making the HDD drive way faster than any other standard HDD on the planet. For all of that performance you pay USD 19,000 (Rs.7,60,000) - an even more insane price tag. The drive sits on a PCIe card slot.
The company plans to release smaller versions of the drive in capacities of 80GB, 160GB, and 320GB by the Q1 of 2008. The 640GB would run at approx. USD30 (Rs.1,200) per GB.
